Adopt a Filmmaker!

The Utah International Film Festival is a wicked awesome place to meet filmmakers from the Beehive State and beyond.

And this year, we're making the overall experience even more personal.

We're launching a new program called "Adopt a Filmmaker." This program pairs local film lovers with visiting filmmakers during the Utah International Film Festival.

We're not asking you to give up your spare room for nothing (or copy and credit). Anyone who hosts an out-of-town filmmaker and provides them with a free place to stay during the festival will receive a free Festival Pass to the Utah International Film Festival, taking place January 25–29, 2027, at the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center in Taylorsville, Utah.

We attended a festival in another state that offered a similar program, and it was awesome to connect with local families as filmmakers and spend hours talking about storytelling, filmmaking, and creative projects.

Sound interesting?

Click the link at the bottom of this post and tell us a little about your place. We'll also ask a few questions to help us figure out which filmmakers might be the best fit for you during the festival.
